Glazing liners are fire-resistant materials placed behind or around glazed openings in fire-rated doors and partitions to provide additional fire protection.

When exposed to fire temperatures intumescent glazing liners expand to fill the glazed opening. This creates a fire rated barrier that prevents fire and smoke from spreading even if the glass has failed due to flame exposure.

While glazing gaskets primarily seal the perimeter edges of glass panels, glazing liners provide fire protection across the entire glazed area. Liners are typically sheet materials or strips that cover or line the glazing rebate, whereas gaskets are sealing components around the glass edges.

Fire rated glazing liners have fire ratings from 30 minutes up to 120 minutes or more, depending on the material type and thickness.
